Essert Romand in summer
The area has a completely different and wonderful character in the summer too. It is less crowded and absolutely beautiful. The Mountains are wonderful, the lakes sparkling with clear water, the alpine flowers grow in profusion and goats and cows roam free.
Half as many people explore the area, most of the best restaurants are open, and all the main lifts. The shops change their character and swap ski gear for climbing and biking equipment.
Walking, biking, caneing, rafting, paragliding, swimming in the lakes and the Olympic pool are just some of the acticities on offer. Also the countryside and the ancient culture are on more visible display, the Abbey at St Jean d’Aulps is a treasure.
